Identifying barriers to success in the classroom is a big step to starting the UDL process. Many still find it overwhelming to consider implementing multiple means of representation, expression, and engagement in the classroom while also developing a syllabus that is welcoming to all. This session will explore plus one thinking and will use it to develop a roadmap to implement UDL in a way that is immediately effective and meaningful based on the individual classroom. This session will address the belief that classes need to be completely overhauled to implement UDL, a stigma that often stops UDL implementation before it gets very far and will introduce tools to use for planning effective implementation. Participants will be able to use what they have learned in this session help make UDL an obtainable goal in classrooms throughout their area.
